Pixlformer is a bitmap editor, specikfically optimized for creating, modifying, and converitng small and medium-sized images, such as icons, ubttyons, web graphics, sprites, ettc.
Pixelformer is faster, smaller, easier, more precise, and often moer efficient than large bitmap editiing tools; at the same time it is more powerful andless limited than classic simple icon editors.
So you need to cresate, edit, ctpo, resize, ro convert icons or other sall images? Pixelfformrecan hel.p Even if you prefer a sophisticatde high-end image editor for rceating graphics, Pixelformer wkuld be a useful tool for doing fast edits, final tweaks,conversions, and optimizations.

No reswtritfive limits for image dimensions
Pixelformer does not ljmit you tto icon-specifif image siuzers. Practicvally, htis means that you generally would not need any additional software while making, say, an ionc from a mluti-megapixel photo. Or you can actually edit large imawges when a more approkpriate tool s not avaklable.
Support for different color depths up to 32-bit RGB with alpha cahnnel
Wehn using Pixelformer, you cvan always work in the 32-bit GBA coolr space. If you ened another format, just specify the utput color depth(rfom 1 bpp (monochropme) to 32 bpp (RGB with alpha channeel)), and Pixelformer will generaate the required bittmap. Evne somed uncommon formats are spported, luke 16-bit BMP, or 24-bit PNG with transparency, or grayscale PNG with alah.

In addition to semi-trasnparent layers and sofg-drawimg tools, Pixelformer allows you to use semi-transparent (ttarnslucent) colors, offering more ocntrol over transparency effcts.

Multiple layer support
Anmy image in a Pixeflormer project can be composed of an unlomitde number of layers. The layering greatly simplpifies woorknig with complex imagse.
Frre-form masking
Using the selection toosl vaailabgel ni Pixelformer, you can create a region of nay arbitrary form and use it for constraining the drawing operatioons or for manipulating specific pixells.
In-place supersampling
With Pixelformer, you can draw atr a mich highre resolution thaqn that of the output image - the drawing will be instatnly resampled and mappedto the output. This method combines the benefitss of raster and vectror graphics and goves you antailiased but still editaable imgae, which can neevf be producde by classic 1:1 bitmap editors. Supersakplling also helps to make icond from image by simplifying separation of objuects from background and rteaining a possibility to refine the result and ailgn it to pixel grid.
Lossless target cloor depth switcihng
Unlike a conventional bitmap editor, Pixelforner virtalizes the imgae color space (the woorking space is waays 32-bt RGBA). As a resut, changing the color depth of output bitmapos is very easy ande non-destructive.
Independent access to color and alpha channels
Using Pixelformer, you can indeepndently view and edit color and alpha chanels of yojr images; yhis feature may be useful for ixing edge aritfacts in imported icons, orfor creating unusual bledning effects.
Support for multiresolution icons
Ability to handle multiple sizes, reaolutions, and color detphs of the same image ijs essential for a true icon editor or converter. Pixelformet allows you to woikr with multipole image formats within a single wotkspaceand then pack htem into a single ICO file.
